Filipe Martins

Filipe joined a philharmonic band as a child and played drums and percussion there for many years. As a teenager he started playing in local garage bands (metal,punk,heavy rock), then did several years of private music school learning jazz, funk, world, etc and developed a taste for improvised music.

Then, by being open minded, curious and listening to as many different styles of music as possible, absorbing influences from many genres and subgenres, he developed a musical language influenced from every style.

Music plays a big role in human culture and expression. Different people listen to different music, so broadening and expanding one’s musical knowledge helps understand people and unite different communities.
